How it works
You join supported venues explicitly, optionally turn discoverability on, and browse anonymous-facing cards drawn from prompts you choose to fill in. Until both sides agree through the in-app flow, richer identity stays private. Turning discoverability off, leaving a venue, or ending a session resets what others can reasonably infer about your presence—as described in-product.
Verification & control. Discoverability unlocks only after you clear an ID path built around supported U.S. state-issued driver's-license or state-ID barcodes (plus camera permissions as shown in-app)—not your immigration status, but which documents our scanner can ingest today. You choose when you appear discoverable; none of this replaces sober judgment offline (Terms).
Data footprint (summary). We collect roughly what ships today: signup credentials, voluntary profile inputs, verification captures through the granted camera/library permissions, coarse location while you actively use discovery to infer venue presence, structured activity inside the Service, optional notifications your phone shows with your consent, plus ordinary server/network metadata tied to authenticated API calls—and not much else by design (Privacy Policy lists categories precisely).
Offline responsibility. IRL connects digital signals to real gatherings; we do not supervise, insure, vet every interaction, guarantee safety outcomes, assume liability for people you encounter, conversations you have offline, harassment off-platform, intoxication/incidents at venues, or anything analogous. See Terms.
