Delete your IRL account
You can leave IRL permanently. Below are the supported methods.
In-app deletion (recommended when available)
When the shipped app includes account deletion controls, delete from Settings:
- Open IRL and sign in if prompted.
- Go to Settings (typically from your profile tab or gear icon).
- Open Account or Privacy & data (wording may vary by version).
- Choose Delete account and confirm the prompt.
If your build does not yet surface a delete button, or you are unable to access the app, use the email process below.
Deletion by email
Send a message to admin@irlapp.org with the subject line IRL account deletion request. Include:
- The email address or phone number associated with your account
- Your display name as shown in the app (if any)
- A short statement that you want your account and personal data deleted
We may ask a follow-up question to confirm ownership. Once verified, we process deletion and send a brief confirmation when complete.
What gets deleted
Completed deletion removes or irreversibly de-identifies profile content (photos and prompts), account credentials linkage, verification artifacts subject to lawful retention carve-outs summarized in our Privacy Policy, location participation history materially identifying you inside normal operational backups' rollover windows, and similar personal records not legally required elsewhere.
Extremely limited remnants may linger briefly in encrypted backups until ordinary rotation purges occur. Anonymized or aggregated telemetry lacking re-linkability may remain for analytics integrity.
Beta or test accounts
TestFlight or internal testers should use the same email channel—mention “TestFlight account” so we map you correctly when identifiers differ slightly.
