About IRL
U.S. venues + supported state-ID barcodes · Real-world discovery at the place you're in
Mission
IRL supports people physically present together at participating venues in the United States (as we launch and light up coverage) who want consent-based introductions: each person chooses before richer identity surfaces, and coordination stays lightweight so you steer toward hello in real life—not extended chat loops. Getting past verification means presenting a U.S. state-issued ID barcode our onboarding supports, regardless of why you hold that credential.
What IRL is not
IRL is not a messaging app. It is not a city-wide swipe feed. It does not prioritize screen time—it prioritizes clarity, boundaries, and a short session: open the app at the venue, opt in thoughtfully, put the phone down.
Privacy and safety posture
ID tooling, discoverability switches, anonymity before mutual interest, scoped location prompts (when-you're-using-the-app disclosures), moderation hooks, deletion paths, and explicit legal disclaimers governing offline encounters together define our posture—verification raises the statistical bar versus totally anonymous signup but cannot guarantee outcomes (Terms).
